Cookbooks - My Favorite Travel Souvenirs

Wherever I travel, I grab a cookbook.

I’m back for my second week of videos. I’m still a bit in my show-and-tell phase. But I don’t often get the chance to show off some of the things I’ve picked up along the way, so I wanted to share them with you.

Today, it’s all about cookbooks. Sure, I turn to online recipes just like the next person, but if you’ve ever visited another country and then tried to track down the authentic recipe later, you know just how impossible that is.

It’s also why I do what I can to buy cookbooks wherever I go. I can’t always share my experiences, but at least I can share the food. So, I hope you enjoy a little insight into the cookbooks I’ve picked up over the few years living in South America (with one book from Europe).

This may be the last non-paywall video. I haven’t decided yet if the videos will go behind the wall or not. We’ll see. But just a reminder, I have to turn on the paywall subscription feature beginning February. Unfortunately, the memoir pieces, which are my favorite to write (even though they are often the most difficult to write), aren’t being shown on Medium. Less than 1% of subscribers even know when a new story comes out, so, beginning next week, all my memoirs will be posted here…with the occasional visa/travel post going to Medium.

If you haven’t yet signed up I’d love to have you. And if you’re unable to afford the $5 subscription, feel free to reach out and contact me. I don’t want the fee to prevent you from accessing my stories.
