There are also alfajores with jam coated with sugar powder, but most are with dulce de leche. Jorgitos is a popular and very affordable brand in Argentina. While in Argentina, try Vaquita, a bar of pure hardened dulce de leche. You can get them in the Kioskos.

Ha, I have to admit, after living in Argentina for 3 years I’m kind of dulce de leche-d out. I need a detox before I can go back for more.

Deuce de Leche looks very similar to Scooter Pies here in the States....I used to eat them a lot as a kid so not sure if they are still on the market? Thanks for sharing.

I so loooooooove alfajores, Grayson! We have them back in the Philippines, most popularly sold by The Good Shepherd in Baguio, in the Northern part of the country. I wish I could get them here in Australia! 🩷

Ohh, that does make sense with the Philippines (a country I have yet to visit but absolutely will). What kind of flavors are available? I think my favorites are actually from neighboring countries like Paraguay, where I could find passion fruit and rum options.
